How magical and stimulating to the senses nature could be: the playful shapes of the clouds, the cheerful colours and forms of the most beautiful flowers, butterflies and birds. So many different scents to intrigue my nose.
The musky scent of playful young goats, the sweet, heady smell of dried pulp used as feed for the cattle, the fresh sweetness of newly mown grass, or the dried grass we played in up in the hayloft. The earthy scent of a summer shower after a few warm days, which only years later I discovered even has a lovely name for this natural blend of plant oils and soil bacteria: ‘petrichor’. The roots of this journey of discovery lie on the farm where I grew up. Sniffing at my grandmother’s coffee grinder, or the soft, heady scent of her talcum powder. My mother’s lipstick, which smelled of a blend of violets and iris, and pampering my dear mum by tucking her in on the sofa in the evening under a warm blanket and then ruffling her hair … the roots of my passion, which grew into Babassu, lie in my childhood: a warm, safe place you come to enjoy, to reset, to discover and to feel completely pampered.

As a young, hyperactive, sensitive and cheerful girl, I could never have imagined that one day I would run such a lovely business, with four wonderful beauty boutiques, a webshop and a cosmetics wholesaler. Of course, I no longer run the business on my own: my partner Raoul has joined me and we share the tasks between us. I am no longer on the shop floor or in the salon every day, but a highly motivated, warm and, above all, kind team is ready to welcome you.
