Facial oil for nourishment and comfort

A facial oil helps the skin feel supple, soft and comfortable. Many oils contain nourishing ingredients that support the skin barrier and help reduce dryness. Facial oils are often used on dry or mature skin, though they can also suit sensitive skin.

When should you use this oil?

A facial oil is usually applied as the final step in your skincare routine, so the skin holds on to moisture and active ingredients more effectively. On dry, tight or sensitive skin in particular, it offers extra nourishment and comfort.

Many people use a facial oil in the evening, layered over a serum or face cream, so the skin is deeply supported overnight.

Can you use a facial oil during the day too?

Yes, absolutely. In that case a small amount is usually enough, so it doesn’t leave a greasy film. This keeps the skin supple and hydrated, even through the colder months or when skin lacks moisture. Do remember to apply an SPF as well to keep your skin well protected. Make-up can be worn over it without any trouble.

Which facial oil suits your skin?

On dry, moisture-poor or mature skin, a light facial oil can bring more comfort, suppleness and glow throughout the day. Often just one to three drops are enough. The oil is then applied over a serum or mixed with a moisturiser.

The texture of the oil makes a real difference. Some oils absorb quickly and feel almost dry on the skin, while richer oils can indeed feel more greasy. People with combination or oily skin therefore tend to use a facial oil only in the evening, or choose a lighter formula as part of their daily skincare routine.
