Carthusia

In 1948, the prior of the Certosa di San Giacomo rediscovered the centuries-old perfume formulas of this Carthusian monastery on Capri. With the Pope’s permission, he shared them with a chemist who built the smallest perfume laboratory in the world and named it Carthusia, the Latin name for the monastery of the Carthusian monks. The natural ingredients are picked, distilled and bottled by hand, in the traditional artisanal way. Each perfume is an ode to the flora and fauna of Capri: a harmony of scents as unique as the island itself.
