LIPCARE

Kind to your lips

In winter, a lipstick alone will not do. The sharp difference in temperature between outside and indoors can leave the lips so dry that they feel sore. Give them a little extra attention and care for them with products made especially for the delicate skin of the lips.

Hydrating treatment

The skin of the lips is thin and therefore very vulnerable. As the temperature drops outside and the central heating is turned up indoors, the lips are prone to losing moisture. The new Cold Plasma Plus+ Lip Therapy by Perricone MD is a lip treatment for any time of day that hydrates and nourishes dry lips and fills in fine lines. The lips look softer, smoother and fuller straight away.

Protective balm

Because the lips have no sebaceous glands, they lack a natural protective layer. The melting, creamy texture of Bienaimé’s Lip Balm wraps around the lips and leaves a silky film without any shine. Plum kernel oil not only has a lovely scent, its vitamin E also works as a natural anti-ageing ingredient that helps prevent fine lines.

Tinted balm

Would you like care and a hint of colour in one? The Lip Crème by Tata Harper offers the comfort of a nourishing lip balm with the vibrancy of a lipstick. The stick holds a cream that rejuvenates the lip contour while giving the lips a beautiful colour and a full, softly glossy finish. It also comes in a colourless version, so you can apply it at any time of day, even without a mirror.

Healing butter

Sometimes the lips become so dry that the skin cracks and begins to flake. When this happens, it is especially important to keep the lips dry. Wetting chapped lips by licking them may seem to help, but it only dries them out further. The Jao Lip Butter by Jao Brand is made with shea butter and zinc oxide to protect against UV, and hydrates with rosehip and jojoba oil. Pumpkin seed, sea buckthorn and propolis help heal the cracked skin. The butter also has a subtle flavour of vanilla, tea tree and rose.

Nourishing gloss

Like the skin of the face, the skin of the lips shows signs of ageing too: lips become drier, lose their volume and develop fine lines. To make them look fuller and younger, you can use a gloss with nourishing ingredients. Lip Saviour by delilah cosmetics is a nourishing lip oil that gives the lips more definition and a soft, glossy tint.

Balm for the night

Before going to sleep, apply a generous layer of a nourishing or anti-ageing lip balm. While you sleep, the balm can do its work, so you wake with revived lips in the morning. The Balmessence Lip Treatment by Oribe is a vegan lip balm with nourishing ingredients such as jojoba oil, peppermint oil and shea butter to pamper your lips. Even in harsh winter weather, the perfect recipe for a wonderfully soft and kissable mouth.
