Atacama by Altaia takes its name from a South American wilderness, the highest desert on earth, a spectacle of salt and sand that changes colour with the seasons.
Rain is scarce (the Atacama is said to be the driest place on earth), yet only a few drops are needed to awaken the seeds that wait patiently beneath the ground and colour it pink with flowers. The top notes bring together grains of desert salt and freesia. At the heart lie jasmine and sage, before warm base notes such as tonka bean and cashmere wood come through.

Altaia is an acronym of ‘A Long Time Ago In Argentina’ and refers to the remarkable love story of Sebastián from Argentina and Marina from Italy. When they met in Positano on the Italian Amalfi Coast at the start of this century, they discovered that their ancestors had also met a century and a half earlier, far away in Argentina.
The collection consists of timeless yet contemporary eau de parfums, each telling its own story. Presented in handmade bottles. Every box includes the story of the fragrance, signed by Marina and Sebastián themselves.
