Description

L’Iris by Santa Maria Novella is the very first eau de parfum from Officina, making its debut in the spring of 2022. It takes its well-earned place within the I Giardini Medicei collection. At the base of this powdery composition lies iris butter, drawn from the rhizomes of the flower and the most precious of all powdery raw materials. Grown in the hills of Florence, it needs no less than six years to mature. The iris connects many cultures and has been a powerful symbol of protection since ancient Greece.

Topnoten: Galbanum, timurpeper en neroli.
Hartnoten: Geranium, magnolia champaca en sambac jasmijn
Basisnoten: Musk en ambergris, maar bovenal de iris fiorentina concrete.

In 1221, the faithful founded the monastery of Santa Maria Novella in Florence and began laying out a garden filled with flowers and herbs. Since 1612, the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, the oldest pharmacy in the world, has been making artisanal products based on biodynamically grown herbs and flowers.

The classic colognes and the lovely products for hair, face, body, hands and feet are still made to centuries-old recipes, in the same authentic, artisanal way.
