Velvet Tonka by BDK Parfums is a tribute to one of the favourite ingredients of David Benedek, the perfumer behind BDK Parfums. He describes the tonka bean as an ingredient full of contrasts: at times reminiscent of vanilla with leather, at times of almonds, and sometimes revealing chocolate-like facets. Velvet Tonka is defined by a trio of tonka bean, orange blossom and almond. Fresh and warm at once, the rich tonka bean is dressed with almond and rose petals for a velvety touch, and with a hint of tobacco absolute to lend a honeyed character. In the base, moreish notes of milky amyris wood unfold, heightened with ambroxan and vanilla absolute for a rare softness and sensuality. Velvet Tonka is a tribute to founder David Benedek’s Moroccan roots and to the distinctive character of this Arab region.
